Saturday, 17th June saw Bridgend Male Choir in the Gala performance, entitled Brass & Voices of Wales, in the magnificent setting of the Old Speech Room at Harrow School.

The Choir featured alongside the Lewis Merthyr Band, in a varied programme included Welsh classics such as Myfanwy and Cwm Rhondda along with the stirring marches and the emotive Reverend Eli Jenkins’ Prayer from Under Milk Wood, by Dylan Thomas. This was the Choir and Lewis Merthyr Band at their very best.  A standing ovation followed the finale to a successful concert which can only enhance their reputations over the border.
