Preview for October

Tabernacle Welsh Congregational Church, Derwen Street, Bridgend on Friday, 6th October is the venue for Bridgend Male Choir’s Annual Concert.  This year's Concert, which has already sold out,  will see the Choir's Musical Director, Ryan Wood, and guest soprano, Charlotte Vaughan who is currently starring in 'Phantom of the Opera' in the West End, delivering both an inspirational and varied programme.  The Compere for the evening will be the renowned Beverley Humphreys who has a portfolio career as broadcaster, writer, singer, and speaker.

On Tuesday 24th, the Choir embarks on its annual tour, this time to Majorca, where it will support charity fund-raising through the Anglican Church, Calvia Lions and Rotary International throughout its stay.  Prior to the concert at the Cap Vermall Cultural Centre, Cala Ratjada on Wednesday, the Choir will attend a welcoming reception with the Mayor and local dignitaries and entertainment of typical Mallorquien dancing and the local children’s choir. It will not be far for the Choir to travel on the following day as it entertains guests and local groups at their hotel, Hotel Zafiro Rey Don Jaime, Santa Ponsa.  The highlight of the Tour must be the final concert at the Gothic Roman Catholic Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma (more commonly referred to as La Seu) which has a seating capacity of 1,400 people. It’s not all “work” however, excursions have been arranged throughout the principality with visits to Capdepera, Palma & Bellver Castle with ample time to sample the delights of the Island.
