The Charity's organising committee will be pleased........
The concert at Sony Theatre, Bridgend College in support of the St John’s Trust, Newcastle Hill proved to be a great evening of music making, with a range of items to suit all tastes.
It was no surprise that the Oldcastle School Children’s Choir stole the evening with their three items, especially We Are Young. They certainly enjoyed performing to an audience and were a credit to their parents and teachers.
Vocelle Ladies Choir under their MD, Meryn Williams, sang a varied programme including religious items such as Glory Alleluia, as well as more popular songs such as Money, Money, Money and Can't Help Lovin' That Man from Showboat. For a small group of a dozen or so singers, they made a rich and beautiful sound.
As well as singing some ten other items from their repertoire, the Bridgend Male Choir took the opportunity to perform the five items which they will sing at a competition in Torquay later this month: Casatchok; Lisa Lan; Portrait of My Love;Deep Harmony; Ride the Chariot. The audience certainly seemed to enjoy this set, especially the Russian number, Casatchok. The Choir was supported by MD, Rhiannon Williams-Hale & Accompanist, Laura Smith
For all the choirs, it was a pleasure to sing in front of such an appreciative audience, while at the same time raising money for a worthwhile local cause.
