SUCCESSFUL CHOIR VISIT TO NORTH WALES

Monday 22 June 2015

Bridgend Male Choir was delighted to return to St. Asaph Cathedral at the weekend to give a concert supporting the locally based hospice, St. Kentigern’s.

Under its accomplished Musical Director, Rhiannon Williams-Hale the Choir was in fine form, receiving widespread praise. Compere, Gareth Davies was his consummate best, as was narrator, Peter K Morgan and tenor soloist, Paul Carter. Bridgend’s contribution was part of a wider performance including seven times Welsh National Eisteddfod winners, Trelawnyd Male Voice Choir, which was also in fine form. Under its recently appointed Musical Director, Ann Atkinson and on piano, the busiest person taking part on the evening, Paul Young, they represented the north with aplomb. Trelawnyd’s Paul had accompanied both choirs during the evening, as well as local tenor soloists, David Jones and Ellis Jones and a duet with Ann joining one of the unrelated Jones singers.

A St Kentigern’s Hospice representative was effusive in her praise of all participants and the capacity congregation, which will have ensured a very welcome contribution towards running costs.
