£1m performance given by Bridgend Male Choir

The historical Coal Exchange building in Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff has been restored and converted into a luxury hotel, the Exchange Hotel.

It was here at the Coal Exchange that the first ever £1,000,000 cheque was signed in 1901: in 2017, the Bridgend Male Choir entertained 200 guests at the Chartered Institute of Builders' Presidential Dinner with a £m dollar performance.

With Stephanie Bailey on piano and conducted by Ryan Wood, the choir gave a wonderful light and shade performance in the grand hall in this historic building in Cardiff Bay. The assembled guests, both National and International, were astonished by the tonal quality and the depth of feeling and passion heard, prompted a standing ovation at the end of the performance.

It was then that Gareth Davies, Chairman and Compere for the evening, reminded the visiting delegates and wives of the opportunity to buy a lasting memento of the choir on www.bridgendmalechoir.com.
